001  amp New York Showroom | Retail Design

Completed | New York | 2025

MA-MA designed the first branded showroom and workspace for amp, an emerging company in the at-home fitness technology sector. Located at 110 Green Street in SoHo, the 700-square-foot interior functions as both a collaborative workspace and a product showroom for amp’s AI-powered, wall-mounted fitness device and mobile app.

The design reflects amp’s core values—minimalism, innovation, and performance. The program includes a lounge, kitchenette, work zone, and a dedicated demonstration area. Spatial efficiency was a key priority, addressed through custom built-in elements and a clean, cohesive material palette. The existing space, a classic SoHo loft, featured an open layout and a prominent structural column. These conditions informed a layout strategy focused on integration and flow. Stainless steel was used as the primary material to define and unify the various zones, offering a sleek, industrial contrast to the warmth of selected furnishings.

At the entrance, a custom door with three portholes offers framed views into the interior. A mirrored closet door expands the space visually. The feature wall—home to two amp devices and a backlit, three-dimensional logo—acts as a focal point, framed by indirect cove lighting to enhance the display. Stainless steel finishes continue through the kitchenette and worktable, visually echoing the amp device. In the lounge, a vintage Mascheroni sectional upholstered in Maharam fabric is paired with a Shiro Kuramata leather lounge chair and a 1970s Triform cantilevered coffee table. A Bang & Olufsen Beosound Edge speaker adds an immersive audio layer to the space.

The finished interior balances form and function in a gallery-like setting that supports daily use while highlighting amp’s product. With attention to proportion, lighting, and material detail, the project creates a refined environment that embodies amp’s design-forward brand identity.
