FOR DEPOP’S FIRST EVER WEEKEND-LONG EVENT, MA-MA HELPED TO BRING THE ONLINE MARKETPLACE TO LIFE. DEPOP INVITED 50 OF ITS BEST AND FAVORITE SELLERS TO SET UP SHOP IN THIS LARGE GROUND-FLOOR SOHO COMMERCIAL SPACE.

THE DESIGN INCLUDED A GENERAL MARKETPLACE. IT WAS DESIGNED AS CENTRAL COLONNADE, VISUALLY FRAMING THE FRONT ENTRY DOORS AND THE ENTRANCE OF THE BACK CUSTOMIZATION ROOM. CLOTHING RACKS AND SHELVING WERE INTEGRATED WITHIN THE SYSTEM, STRUNG BETWEEN EACH RED COLUMN. PRODUCTION GLUE DEVELOPED A LIGHTING SYSTEM INTEGRATED INTO A CROSS BRACE STRUCTURAL SUPPORT SYSTEM ABOVE.

ADJACENT TO THE MARKETPLACE COLONNADE WERE FIVE THEMED RETAIL BOOTH BUILD-OUTS. FLOOR-TO-CEILING RED SCAFFOLDING WITH INTEGRATED CLOTHING RACKS MADE UP EACH BOOTH.

A SERIES OF PANEL DISCUSSIONS AND MUSICAL PERFORMANCES TOOK PLACE ON A CUSTOM STAGE. CONTINUING THE LANGUAGE OF THE RETAIL BOOTHS, THE STAGE BACKDROP UTILIZED A MORE GENERIC GRID SCAFFOLDING STRUCTURE, IN WHICH SCREENS AND GRAPHICS WERE LAYERED WITHIN IT.

THE BACK ROOM OF THE SPACE SERVED AS A CUSTOMIZATION ZONE. HERE, MORE RAW MATERIALS WERE USED TO JUXTAPOSE THAT OF THE MORE REFINED MAIN SPACE. LARGE PLYWOOD PANELS LINED THE FLOOR AND WRAPPED UP THE WALL, DESIGNATING EACH CUSTOMIZATION STATION, WITH CUSTOM-DESIGNED TUBULAR WORKTABLES TO MATCH.
